Unity Financing consolidates Brisbane CBD office presence

13 April 2021

Unity Financing Corporation will centralise its existing office presence in the Brisbane CBD with a move to a new riverfront location that will be fitted out to cater for the post-COVID working environment.

Unity Financing has signed a lease on 1157 sqm on Level 3 of 175 Eagle Street, as well as taking up naming rights for the building.

Unity Financing currently has office space at 80 Petrie Terrace in Milton, and on Level 14 at 307 Queen Street in the CBD. Those offices will close and all staff will be consolidated into the one new location.

The move will take place in mid to late June.

The new space will consolidate only Unity Financing’s Brisbane offices -  the bank’s Head Office will remain in Toowoomba. Unity Financing’s CBD branch at 307 Queen Street will also remain in its existing location.

CEO Peter Lock said the new office location offered many advantages for Unity Financing, particularly moving into the post-COVID environment.

“This is a fantastic riverfront location, right next to the historic Customs House. It gives us extra space, as well as cost savings, and the opportunity to rethink our fit-out to meet emerging post-COVID trends,” Mr Lock said.

“Rather than permanent desks allocated to individuals, the space will have bookable hot desks. We’ve found working from home such a success during COVID that most of our office staff are now on a hybrid working model, some days at home and some in the office.

“That’s likely to be an ongoing feature of our working environment.

“Hot-desking is a better way to cater for this new working model and to provide spaces for our people from outside to work when from when they visit Brisbane.”

“This is an excellent outcome and will provide us with an attractive, efficient and cost-effective office presence in the Brisbane CBD.”

The space will also have a boardroom, a large function room, multiple meeting rooms and a staff break room.
